The Blocker family has been serving North Central Florida for decades. Blocker's Furniture was founded by J.E. Blocker when he purchased a local department store in 1924.




Nearly 20 years later, J.E. expanded his business when he and a partner bought an existing furniture store in the old downtown Ocala area.

J.E.'s son, Jim, joined the business in 1952 and immediately started the company's transition from a rural route credit-based business to what Blocker's Furniture is today. Following a partner buyout in 1964 and J.E.'s death in 1966, Jim took the company's helm.


From 1966 to 1987, the company went through various transitions. Initially, the company continued functioning as a department store. That eventually became a woman’s clothing store and three separate furniture operations: a furniture warehouse-type store, a mid-priced furniture store, and a high-end, design-oriented furniture store. Moving away from the low-priced furniture industry, Jim added 30,000 square feet of space to the high-end furniture store; bringing the square footage up to 43,500. This enabled Jim to ultimately close the warehouse store and consolidate the two remaining furniture stores into one building.


With business booming and a continually increasing supply of furnishings to display, Blockers determined in 2000 that a larger location was necessary. A chance meeting with a longtime customer who happened to be a realtor enabled Blocker's Furniture to learn about an 80,000 square foot space - previously occupied by Wal-Mart. The Blockers immediately saw the opportunity, purchased the space, and now boast the largest showroom in Ocala.

1. Customer 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If within 30 days of receiving your furniture purchase/60 days for mattress purchase you are not satisfied, you may elect to have the item replaced or reselect another item at current retail prices or you may return your purchase for full credit or refund of the purchase price of the furniture. DELIVERY CHARGE IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Blocker's 30 day return policy requires that the item must be in like new condition. Blocker's reserves the right to inspect condition of any or all items before any return is approved. Blocker's will refuse any return that has damage due to misuse, abuse, accidental damage, animal use/damage, including animal hair/dander, is soiled by any other means, or has an offensive odor. This policy is for the first time purchase in any given category and will not be repeated on reselections. COMMERCIAL PURCHASES, CUSTOM ORDERS and FINAL CLEARANCE items do not apply to this guarantee. If the merchandise is paid with a check there will be a 10 working day waiting period before a refund check is issued. Any item returned to Blocker’s for any reason that was originally picked up by the customer, must be transported back to Blocker’s Furniture in the same manner.

2. Final clearance items will not be eligible for allowances, refunds or service. Clearance items are final and are not cancelable. Should final clearance items not be accepted for delivery, there will be a restock or cancellation fee of 25%. These items are sold without any expressed or implied warranties of any type.

3. Any time after purchase, we can correct mistakes in pricing made in computing your purchase price. If such correction results in an increase in the purchase price, you have the option to cancel the sale as to that item, return it and receive full credit or a full refund for that item.

4. In the event an item in storage is advertised at a lower price, customer is entitled to the lower price but must take delivery on the next open delivery date for their area.

5. Any change in your order or delivery address requires at least two business days notice. Changes may delay the delivery date. Please allow two business days to schedule call in deliveries.

6. Merchandise marked “Partial Assembly Required” (Disassembled) or “Assembly Required” is delivered or taken by purchaser in factory packed cartons for assembly by purchaser.

7. Custom Order Policy. This type of product is ordered and made especially for you. We do not guarantee anything to be perfect, but will guarantee that your selection will meet all factory specifications. It is our policy not to cancel Custom Orders, but in the event delivery is not accepted, there will be a cancellation/restock fee of 25% of the total order.

8. We retain title to furnishing until delivered to you and paid in full.

9. If we have to pay any monies or hire an attorney to collect payment from you, we can recover from you all of our collection costs including the fees for our attorney. Any litigation involving this contract must be held in Marion County, Florida. Purchaser waives the right to a jury trial.

10. Any returned check must be paid for in cash or certified check. The maximum amount allowed by law, for return check fee will be added to the unpaid balance.

11. Any store credit will be void after one year.

12. Any unpaid balance must be paid in full when merchandise is scheduled for delivery.

Warranty After 30 Days

Blocker’s Furniture represents some of the most respected, quality controlled furniture in our industry and sells “First Quality Home Furnishings”. We do not sell perfect furniture, because none exists. If it did, we would sell it. Our customers can expect industry standards, but perfection is impossible. Wood varies, colors vary, and sizes vary. We sell style, comfort and natural characteristics, which enhance the product. The following warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose. There are no expressed or implied warranties, which extend beyond it limited warranty described below. We warrant the merchandise you purchase from us will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of delivery. This warranty applies to you as the original purchaser only, and to merchandise which has remained at the original delivery site. In order to recover under this warranty, you must give us written notice of the defect within the one-year warranty period and provide proof of purchase. All replacements, reselects or exchanges under this warranty will have a warranty expiration date 1 year from original delivery date or 30 days, whichever is longer.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Wear fading, piling or shrinkage of any fabric
  • Variation of the color or graining of wood or wood products
  • The natural variation in graining and color of leather
  • Furnishings that have been altered by the purchaser
  • Ridges or rough areas in marble or variation in it’s color or graining
  • Damage or discoloration caused by sunlight or artificial light sources
  • Law tag must remain attached to all bedding for manufacturer to honor warranties
  • Manufacturers will not honor warranties of any type if evidence of animal use is found
  • Damage due to misuse, abuse or accidents of any nature
  • Any variation of any product which meets industry standards
  • If used in a commercial environment
  • Comfort

If the furnishings we sell you do not meet our warranty we will, at our option, either (1) Service, repair or replace the non-conforming merchandise. (2) Exchange the product with exact product. (3) Assist you in selecting a product of similar value and price. (4) If we cannot do this, then we will refund the purchase price of the merchandise in exchange for return of merchandise. Delivery charges are non-refundable.

We will not be liable to you for any consequential or incidental damages for breach of our warranty.

Any item requiring service that was originally picked up at Blocker’s Furniture must be transported back to Blocker’s Furniture.


Deposits and Delivery

A 25% deposit will hold in stock merchandise until the next available delivery date. The customer needs to have the furniture delivered or paid in full at this time.On special and custom orders the 25% minimum deposit will hold merchandise until we receive it from the manufacturer. Once we receive the merchandise the customer needs to have the furniture delivered or paid in full. Any order stored over 30 days must be paid in full and not subject to cancellation. Should merchandise stored over 30 days not be accepted for delivery, there will be a cancellation or restock fee of 25% of the total order. This will include sales on special orders, custom orders, stock merchandise, and floor samples. We will store furniture that has been paid in full for three months from the date of purchase at no additional charge. In the event that item is advertised at a lower price the customer will be entitled to the lower price, but must have the item delivered or picked up immediately. Storage privileges then cease. After 3 months a monthly storage fee will be charged based on 10% of the price the customer paid for the items, due on the first day of the fourth month and the first day of each subsequent month.

On finance sales, where we are running no down payment, we will hold the merchandise until next available delivery day. Finance sales are not eligible for storage. We do not special order or custom order on finance sales without a minimum 25% deposit. The effective date of the finance contract will be the first available delivery date. Financing options are subject to credit approval. Some restrictions apply. Ask for details.

* ETA means estimated time of arrival to our warehouse. This timetable is based on information given to us by the manufacturer. It is only an estimate and not a guaranteed delivery date to Blocker’s Furniture. Your delivery will be scheduled after the furniture has arrived at our warehouse.

Delivery Options

At Blocker’s Furniture we offer “WHITE GLOVE” delivery service for your purchases. Our delivery charge is $59.99 per delivery. This delivery charge covers all items purchased on the same day and if we are unable to deliver your complete order we will deliver the remaining items when they arrive AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. For this price, THE LOWEST DELIVERY CHARGE AROUND, your furniture will be opened, assembled, and inspected at our warehouse before delivery. Upon arrival to your home our delivery team will bring your new furniture into your home and place it where you want it. If you have existing furniture where the new furniture is to be placed, the delivery team can assist you in clearing the area. This charge is for all deliveries from single items to multiple rooms.
